Sense & Sensibility
JANE AUSTEN

The Constructivist set design for Sense and Sensibility, incorporates a series of platforms and wall panels, as it reflects the story’s themes of societal navigation and personal transformation. The clean, adaptable structure supports the production’s eight to nine locations, keeping the focus on the characters’ emotional journeys navigating the ladder of ambition.
A focal point of the design is the wall panels, which seamlessly transition between serving as interior wallpaper and evoking the English countryside in outdoor scenes. This open, versatile form emphasizes fluidity, mirroring the shifting dynamics of the characters’ relationships and their places within society’s hierarchy.
